Seminar Recap: Prof. Robert Edward Breidenthal on “How to Tackle a Turbulent Vortex”
On October 17th, 2024, the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) at Politecnico di Torino, led by Prof. D. Tordella, welcomed Prof. Robert Edward Breidenthal from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, for an insightful seminar titled “How to Talk to a Turbulent Vortex.”
Prof. Breidenthal completed his undergraduate studies in Aeronautical Engineering at Wichita State University in 1973. He earned his doctorate in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 1979 and served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Caltech before joining the University of Washington in 1980. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His research has been supported by prominent organizations, including the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the National Science Foundation, NASA, and Asea Brown Boveri Ltd. of Switzerland.
